Life Below Water

A beautifully shot, ugly truth: The life of ocean plastics, narrated by Morgan Freeman.

Client: Tribeca Studios x United Nations

Winner of an IADAS Anthem Award, this hybrid short film/advertisement delivers the stunning, expansive visuals of classic nature shows, but with an unsettling slant. In Life Below Water, a “new ocean species” is introduced amongst the shimmering grace of the marine life off the coast of Belize: plastics. The pervasive and jarring presence of man-made pollution amongst the natural beauty of the ocean says it all. Morgan Freeman helps too.

Spacestation produced Life Below Water in collaboration with director Brian Schulz, the United Nations, Google, and Tribeca Studios. Our goal was to create a work that challenges viewers to see a harsh reality in a new way in order to think more critically about the way pollution affects our oceans.
